Motorhuis Safe also had various whole sale activities such as: Motorama which imported MQP, Arai and PNO parts. Safe Tweewieler Import (STI) bv by distributing Aprilia. DNL was distributing Ducati and then there was the Motor Trading Company (MTC) bv.

Reliable Relation

In 1996 Roelof Schiltmans and Robert van de Nadort founded Double R Trading (DRT) bv in Leerdam the Netherlands with the intention to specialize only in import and export of motorcycles. Since the beginning we have worked together with several partners of the official network in such a way to respect our mutual interests.

Beside the fact that the two R’s were inspired by their names it is their aim to perform as an "Reliable Relation". Many cooperation’s with business partners go back to the start of DRT bv and even earlier.

The beginning 

From day one we have had a complete team of 6 staff members taking care of purchase, sales, technical support, distribution and administration. Today, 2 of of those early birds employees are still part of the team; Gerben Holkema (salesmanager DRT) and Humphrey Sanders (logistics). We rented offices and warehouse at the Energieweg 15 in Leerdam when we started.

Our advanced tailor made computer system took care of accurate administration so we managed to have our own customs warehouse on location. In the beginning we imported used and new bikes, with sales all over the world. After approximately 2 years we quit with used bike import from the USA and Canada as the quality was rapidly decreasing and the margins were no longer interesting.
